I knew it! I knew it! What I didn't know was Raven's quest and what she was really doing. Now that that's been revealed - oh boy!

The first two parts of this storyline hasn't been the best and its really bothered me because Geoff Johns has done an amazing job with this series and especially with "One Year Later". While the delays in some of the issues may be the reason behind the momentum problems I'm having as a reader I think there was just something lost in the last two issues. I liked #39 a lot more than I liked #38, but this issue beats them both and has brought this series back to where it should be - a must read.

This issue we discover who the real traitor is and what they're motivation is behind it all. While I knew it wasn't going to be Miss Martian wasn't going to be the traitor because there was just too much being put out there to make you want her to be the traitor. I think the whole thing with her being a White Martian really made readers think she would be the one, but it just didn't make a lot of sense for me. I'm glad she's not the traitor. The real traitor is a pretty cool one. Next issue is going to be huge, and I think its going to be a great conclusion to this storyline.

If there's something I was glad to see in this issue its the whole story with Ravenger and her struggle with the Titans. I've really liked the Ravenger character over the last year or more, especially her stint in Nightwing's series. She's on the team because Nightwing spoke up for her, but is she really the reformed person he thinks she is and if she is she's still Deathstroke's daughter. Is she stable? This issue answers some of those questions. She's definitely one of my favorite characters in the series right now and I want to see her continue to be in this book for a long while in any capacity.

Tony Daniel's artwork in this series continues to go above and beyond anything I thought Daniel's would ever accomplish. I've always enjoyed Daniel's artwork. After he left Marvel to do with with Top Cow and his own creator owned work I picked up everything he worked on. His style back then was great and really had a distinct feel. It wasn't something I would expect to see in the pages of Teen Titans. His style has changed and matured a lot over the last couple of years and I couldn't imaging him not working on this series.

Teen Titans is a crucial series within the DC universe because these are teenage heroes that will soon be the next generation Justice League heroes. This series is a proving ground to readers that these characters mean something and are able to carry a story and mean something. Teen Titans in the 70s and 80s was a series that meant something to readers and I think Geoff Johns and Tony Daniel are making their mark and bringing this series back to the level it was under Wolfman and Perez. I'm excited to be reading this series!
