Hey everyone! Happy New Year! Welcome to the first 2007 Bulleteer Madness. Comics are late this week. So this column is late. It says January 4th, but I have yet to pick up anything. I will do it later today, playing Texas Hold 'Em while I'm typing this!
Well I'm typing again on Friday, the 5th. I didn't get comics yesterday, my mentor/LCS guy is in the hospital. He's doing ok, I just don't know when he'll get out. One of his students is going to open the store today, but I won't be free till 5, so my good friend is going to pick up my books. It was a very somber and humbling night.
Well back to the happy stuff.
THIS IS A SPOILER COLUMN: I SPOILER. YOU
NO LIKE. SKIP SILVER BULLETS. AND REVIEW. THANK YOU.
Raph's Ranty: 2007 and what I'm looking
forward to.
Well 2007 looks like it's going to be interesting. The end of 52. JLA/JSA. Superman III, the Richard Donner cut, in Action Comics. DC has got me really excited with their books and what's coming. Paul Dini doing “Countdown to Infinite Crises on Infinite Earths with Identity Crises”... that rumor had me stoked, until I realized I'd be paying an additional 10 dollars a month. DAMN YOU DC! I'm A COLLEGE STUDENT! I'm a columnist! Can't you guys send me review copies? Please? That's ok DC, I still love you. Until you do a major crossover event and delay EVERYTHING. Seriously, CW was so late, but it's starting to matter less with the series ending so soon. That was my first and possibly last Marvel mention in this column. I apologize to DC Nation and the Raging Bulleteers for bringing them in.
My most anticipated event is
actually not in any comic book. It's the New York Comic-Con. BIGGER!
BETTER! WITH MORE SPACE FOR 2007! I get to meet Stan Lee, George Perez
and that's cool... but SEAN WHELAN? JIM SEGULIN? BRYAN DEEMER??? JAMIE
D??? CGS AS A WHOLE???? That's going to be unbelievable. I've already
met all the New York podcasters (minus the guys from Uncanny X-Cast and
Charlito). I've had a ball with those guys, and I can't wait for all the
CGS forum people at NY-CC, when the GEEKS UNITE!!!!
Coming Soon...
In a world where Geeks
are divided amongst different fields, one podcast seeks to Unite them
All!
GU! Coming Summer 2007!
SILVER BULLETS OF THE WEEK
No review this week. This column is late as
is. It's Sunday night. Too many games of Hold-'em. I have to refocus on
this column and my work. I gotta admit it's really hard to focus
sometimes. I have like 10 storyarcs for my Wraythverse in my head, I
have Crisis on Infinite Bullets outlined, but a lot of plot beats in my
head. It's dangerous because I have it all mapped out so well in my
head, I sometimes feel it's not necessary to put it on paper
immediately. It's a fault of mine. I am grateful that I am writing
though. I'm grateful for those who told me that I was capable and
talented enough to write. I'm sure a lot of people could do this, it
doesn't seem difficult, but they aren't encouraged. I encourage you if
you're reading this, to write if you feel the inclination. If you post
on the CGS forum, there is a writer's group formed by forum member Lobo
on Yahoo. Look it up in the CGS main forum.
That's all for this week. Next week I
promise a column on time and with a Raging Review. 'till then, BUH-GUYH!
